no, 7 is sephiroth, aeris, and cloud. sephiroth has cool hair and tries to become god by summoning a meteor and being in the spot after it hits to soak up all of earth's life energy. and 8 is rinoa and squall squall has a cool gunblade (sword that shoots) in the game there's one point where rinoa and squall are in space and rinoa runs out of oxygen, so squall has to get her back in time to save her. if you fail the minigame thing, you get a game over and it says rinoa was lost in the depths of space which is what happened in the comic, since squall thought Khold was Rinoa.. (the sun was in his eyes)

"no, 7 is sephiroth, aeris, and cloud. sephiroth has cool hair and tries to become god by summoning a meteor and being in the spot after it hits to soak up all of earth's life energy."
And he thinks that would make him God......I would want to play this game why?

Ok, he doesn't try to become "God" per se.. but he does try to become so powerful he can rule the world. he does so because earths' life energy (called Mako energy) swells up in one spot when earth has an 'injury'. earlier in earth's history a huge meteor came and wiped out the cetra people. sephiroth want's to summon another meteor so he can abosrb all the mako energy. i only say he's trying to become god because he tries to become an ultimate being and also one of the battle themes that plays when you fight him is called "Birth of a God" it's just a game... if you overlook the whole 'trying to take over the world thing', it's such a beautiful story! Cloud trying to remember his past, forming relationships with Aeris and Tifa (who is a childhood friend). An evil corporation trying to drain the mako energy for electricity (my avatar is the logo for the evil company). you get to learn all the characters' backstories which all intertwine within each other in such an artistic way that playing this game is like watching a movie! you must play this game

Sephiroth does not mean Satan! Believe me, I've checked out a lot of the name origins, and nowhere does it say satan for Sephiroth. According to the Final Fantasy VII Citadel: "The word "Sephiroth" can be traced to a religious origin - that of Jewish Kabbalah. There is a diagram that features heavily in Kabbalistic reference, referred to as the Tree of Life. It is a diagram showing several spherical shapes, linked together with lines. Each sphere has it's own attributes and meaning, and each is referred to as a "sephirot" (or "sefirot"). The plural of the word "sephirot" is that of our villain. Yep, that's right-- the plural is indeed "Sephiroth". So, now we know where the word comes from... but why that name? What is so significant about this Tree of Life that our villain is named after it? How does this fit into the grand story of Final Fantasy VII? The answer to that is simple: It is said that this Tree of Life depicts the "ten divine paths", or the ten creative forces that are between the infinite God, and our created world. It is, by definition, humanity's process of returning to divinity, along the path shown. Considering that Sephiroth's ambition during the game is to become divine, to rule over the Final Fantasy VII world as a God, this is a very appropriate name for our villain. " and that is the definition given in MANY of name origin websites. never had i heard sephiroth means satan... So don't go bashing my final fantasies! ...

well, sephiroth isn't an english word.. so dictionary.com wouldnt have a listing. anywhom, you gotta play the game! it's sooo awesome! sephiroth trying to rule the world isn't the whole story.. the main story point is cloud trying to get his memory back after an incident in a lab where he got infused with Jenova cells (a space virus of sorts), he becomes a missionary, and gets hired by AVALANCHE to destroy the mako reactors of the evil electric company. after they blow up one reactor, sephiroth attacks and kills the president of shin-ra corp. and then you go on the chase to find him, meanwhile, your best friend has held back a secret about your past. there are a lot of flashbacks, you meet Aeris and learn about her ancient history, Barret and his tragic past, Tifa and her old relationship with Cloud, Red XIII and his trying to save the world with the rest of them. Cait Sith and his secret, and Vincent and his dark and tragic past. Cid and his past with Shinra and the space program, and can't forget Yuffie (i hate Yuffie >_>) and her town's problems and she like materia.... plus the game has an awesome magic system called the Materia system, where you get magic by attaching little sheres to your armor/weapons. and the summons are tooo cool! plus you get to raise chocobos, play LOTS of minigames in the Gold Saucer, You get coool COOOL limit breaks (like Overdrives in FFX) and you get a HUGE world map with lots of secrets to unlock! plus awesome music!!! One-Winged Angel (sephiroth's theme) is one of the best songs I've ever heard! It's got lyrics in Latin and an awesome Orhcestral background. if you love Final Fantasy, You ABSOLUTELY MUST play this game ill be sad if you don't you're reallllly missing out
